So this week we got to drive in to Winnipeg for zone conference which Elder Dale G.Renlund from the first quorum of the 70 came and did for us. He gave my favorite talk last conference "Latter day saints keep on trying" by the way...but! It was seriously so amazing! I wish I could describe in words how it felt to be there. He ended up talking to us all a lot about the atonement, and His testimony and the way He described the savior was so incredible! Here are some of my favorite things that he said : " The farther away I am from the savior the more I think I am entitled to his grace, and focus on things I believe are unfair in life, The closer I am to my Savior the more I see how unfair it was for Him, and wonder how many drops of blood He shed for me" "That is all the church is essentially, a Atonement delivery system!"
So after Elder Renlund did the first part of our training we had lunch break and we all stood up in the pews and began slowly filing out. Well I noticed Elder Renlund came down to the end of the bench I was sitting at and was shaking everyone's hand as they walked past. So I thought "Wow that's neat he came to our bench!" and was excited to walk past and get my hand shake. Well as I was approaching Him He shook my hand and then handed me a piece of paper and said "Will you fill this out and then meet me at the front of the chapel?" What?? Haha I was so shocked! But I said yes and filled out a short questionnaire about myself and then met him at the front and when the chapel was empty he sat down on the bench next to me and had a personal interview with ME! He asked about my family and why I decided to serve a mission and then allowed me to ask him any questions I had, and to tell him about my concerns, and any problems I might be facing, then he looked up specific scriptures and passages from different talks, and explained how they pertained to and could help ME. ! As i sat on the bench next to Elder Renlund and as he so carefully listened and taught me specifically I felt so loved and of such importance! I can bear testimony that Heavenly Father listen to our prayers and even more so the feelings of our hearts and He will go to extreme measure to let us know that we are important to him. He even cares about little ol imperfect me enough to send me a member of the 70 to make sure I know he loves me if that's what it takes. How blessed we are to have a God who knows us so individually!
