Hey hey hey!
So this week we have began running out of our kilometers for the month (We are only allowed to drive so many per month) So we have been walking lots..and it has been pretty hot and humid and lovely haha so one day this week we literally walked around the entire town! And we just stopped by Less actives/potentials/investigators on our way and it was hilarious because every time we were just approaching the house of one of them they were driving away! Hahah it happened like 3 times in a row no joke! and this is just kind of a desolate little place and we only were able to run into 2 people on the street to talk to all day! Haha #streetcontactingforthelose
And another day we were walking there were more people on the street but it is ridiculous the length people will go to avoid us! Like a group of people are mingling downtown or in their neighborhoods and they see us approaching and everyone disperses in separate directions so fast! Hahah it is pretty comical actually, bless their hearts they don't know what salvation looks like ;)
So Connie, who is our Less active Selene's mom who we have been teaching is doing so good! We went and taught her on Friday and it was so cute cause the week before we told her to pray about what we have been teaching so she can know if it is true and what she should be doing! So right when we got there she was like" I have to tell you guys something but we need to pray first!" So we were like okay...and then she continued to tell us how she prayed and got her answer so clearly from an eagle in the sky and she was so excited! And we invited her to be baptized and she said that usually she would never even consider it, but since she has been meeting with us it is something that she wants! But baby steps! :)
We found a single dad while tracting a while back who agreed to let us teach him but we haven't been able to contact him again, then while we were at the store last monday he spotted us and walked up and said " Hey! So I'm free tomorrow! will you guys come over at 2?" And we were super caught off guard! Haha but we have been able to teach him twice this week and he wants to be baptized once he finds out it is true :) yay!
We got to speak in Fort Frances Ontario this sunday and I based a lot of my talk off of a talk by Elder Holland called "The first great commandment" It is a really really really good one! Here is one of my favorite parts of it "My beloved brothers and sisters, I am not certain just what our experience will be on Judgment Day, but I will be very surprised if at some point in that conversation, God does not ask us exactly what Christ asked Peter: “Did you love me?” I think He will want to know if in our very mortal, very inadequate, and sometimes childish grasp of things, did we at least understand one commandment, the first and greatest commandment of them all—“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind.”13 And if at such a moment we can stammer out, “Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee,” then He may remind us that the crowning characteristic of love is always loyalty."
I know that it got me thinking, and I think we can all do some reflecting in of our lives...is our love for the savior affecting our everyday decisions and desires, in the life changing way that it should?
