So this week the best thing of my life happened. I usually bring up with the people that we meet with how it is my life long dream to see fire flies because I always read about them in childrens books and watched them in cartoons and they don't exsist in Utah, but they do here! But we have to be in long before it gets dark and our back yard is to lit up with lamp posts to see them from the window....so anyways I was telling our LA Salene and her mom (who is a new investigator as of this week YAYY) about my dream and they just laughed and thought it was funny. But later that week we went to their house to "practice" teach Connie because she is a sweet heart and knows we don't have a lot of people to teach, and we need all the practice we can get since I am training. So we get done teaching her the plan of salvation, which on a quick side note was amazing! I love how teaching the gospel strengthens my testimony of the things that we teach so much. Like the plan of salvation is seriously the best thing in the world! And I love it! And it makes me so happy to be able to share such a beautifull plan that involves so much hope and happiness with those who don't know about it! The whole thing just makes so much sense ya know? And to see how it makes them feel to understand how dang much our heavenly father loves us all...SO individually. But anyway we were getting ready to leave and they said "wait! We have something for you Sister Anderson!" and they brought out to jars full of fire flies, that they went and caught the night before just for me! Isn't that the nicest thing ever?? It made me so happy! And so we went to our apartment and waited for it to get dark and then we let them out of the jar and guess what? They started flying everywhere and lighting up the whole room! It was the most magical thing. So we brough our mattress out and just watched them forever. :) But of course I couldn't let them die in there...so I made sister brimhall catch them all with me and release them outside hahah she loved me for it ;) But while laying there I again was reminded through the little fire flies how much my Heavenly Father loves me! I could just feel it so strongly.. Isn't that the best? I think so. What a sad life it can be if we aren't always aware of His perfect and unconditional love for us. <3
So here is the best excuse we were given this week while tracting:Lady answers the door, walks completely outside and shuts her door behind her, she then continues to say in a very frusterated manner " I'm sorry but I cannot talk to you....I'm not dressed!!" And went back in her house. And she was fully clothed. Hahah! Ding ding ding, Winner of the week!
So we have seen so many miracles this week, and I can tell you that Heavenly Father will always bless us in our efforts, even though it is usually not immidiatley and not how we have planned, but the blessings will ALWAYS come regardless. :) We got 4 whole lessons in one day this week and two new investigators! The work is coming along. Thank you all for the prayers in our behalf!
So here is a solid qoute from a talk last conference that I love! " If we don’t try, we’re just latter-day sinners; if we don’t persevere, we’re latter-day quitters; and if we don’t allow others to try, we’re just latter-day hypocrites. As we try, persevere, and help others to do the same, we are true Latter-day Saints. As we change, we will find that God indeed cares a lot more about who we are and about who we are becoming than about who we once were."
